Diploma in Cybersecurity

Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid

From reconnaissance to incident response, in controlled labs

Overview

The Diploma in Computer Cybersecurity and Digital Resilience at Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid runs from September to December 2026, alongside the last semester of the degree.

It is graded through lab reports. Each one documents a controlled, authorized environment, what was done step by step and the controls that would have prevented it. The reports are public in the Cybersecurity repository of the degree's organization.

Areas of the program

Reconnaissance and vulnerabilities
Nmap against a lab machine and the analysis of vsftpd 2.3.4 and its backdoor, inside an isolated network.
A CTF from start to finish
From reconnaissance to initial access and privilege escalation, with a controlled availability test.
Incident response
A phishing and ransomware case read through confidentiality, integrity and availability, with role-based access control and a protection plan.
